Charity auction night raises £947
9th March 2006
The animal centre would like to thank everyone who supported us at our Charity Auction in October 2005 at the Coach & Horses in Dronfield.
The response from local people and traders was fantastic. Special thanks to Neil and Vicky who run the pub, Rob and Karen for helping out, the Mayor and Mayoress of Dronfield, council, David Hill and his wife Janet for taking the time to support us and to Johnny Howe for being our brilliant auctioneer.
The centre would also like to thank Shirley and Geoff Eccles for putting a tremendous amount of effort into the event.
We managed to raise an incredible £947 in just three hours. Once again, thanks to everyone involved. It costs approximately £3,000 per week to keep the centre open and because we receive no money from the lottery, the government or RSPCA HQ, we rely totally on the goodwill of local people.
All money raised on the night will go towards the care of all the animals at the RSPCA Chesterfield centre.

In addition pupils from Holmgate school along with their families donated a large quantity of dog, cat and other pet food, which has also been handed over to the animal home and has provided a well deserved treat for the residents!
