Shadow

Shadow

D2007240

German Shepherd Dog

Female

Adopted 24th September 2007

I thought I would e-mail you to show my appreciation for helping me find my perfect companion. SHADOW!!  I adopted shadow September 07 and I am sending you photos of her so you can see her progression.

Shadow is my perfect friend, she goes everywhere with me and she even earns her keep. I work on an equine yard and she has her own duties by collecting all the feed buckets in the morning and putting them in the feed room (although she does leave these in a mess.)  We hack out together and she loves running along side when me and my horse go for a gallop.

I recently ran the race for life and shadow did also. She is my personal trainer i.e. running etc, she is the softest dog on the world and everyone on the yard loves her.

She lives up to her name (Shadow) as she can not be more than 5ft away from me and nobody can walk her as she will not move without me.

She is my best friend in the whole world and I'm really grateful to the Chesterfield & North Derbyshire branch for making it possible for me to have found a real friend.

Many thanks

Charlotte & shadow

Cilla

Cilla

D2008066

Greyhound

Female - neutered

Adopted 3rd May 2008

To all at the RSPCA

Just a few words to let you know that Cilla who we adopted in May 2008 is doing fine. It only took a few days for Cilla to settle into the Doxey household and soon became a companion for Wilson (our other dog.) She is a very faithful dog and loves to play with any member of the family and especially Wilson. It is lovely to watch them both rolling about pinching each others toys and playing tug of war.

Cilla is very obedient on the lead and has picked up basic commands easily. She walks well with Wilson and comes back when called. At night she prefers to sleep on the indoor dog cage but is no bother at all and sleeps well. Cilla has a good appetite and we have kept her on James Wellbeloved.

Overall Cilla is a very placid dog who loves attention and likes to play. She is a real character and has many admirers. I can honestly say that we have many happy years to come with Cilla. Finally to all the RSPCA team keep up the good work and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Domestic Shory Haired

Female - neutered

Adopted 22nd February 2008

Hi

We adopted Bobbie in February this year and she made herself at home straight away. We changed her name to Milly and she got used to it very quickly. We now have a new kitten called lulu and they get on really well together as they share everything they've got. They like to play together and have brought a great deal of joy to our home. We hope they are with us for many years!

Thanks for letting us adopt her as we love her lots.

Adopted 7th June 2008

Hi

I'm fuzzy my new name is Izzy which I like a lot.  Here I am with my new friends Frankie and Fizz.  After a bit of a shaky start and being poorly I now live very happily with my new friends and my new mummy.  I like it here we have lots of toys and treats and we all love play time.  Mum says we are getting two new friends to play with soon so that will be great.

Thanks too everyone at the RSPCA for looking after me.

Barney

Barney

D2008152

Collie cross

Male - neutered

Adopted 31st July 2008

Hi

I thought I would drop you a line on Barney’s progress, we adopted him on the 31st July 2008.  He settled in well, and knows the house rules off by heart. He is a stunning dog, very well behaved and so lively for an eight year old. I am so glad I saw him in the corner of the kennel looking like a scruff and unwanted.

It just goes to show, if anyone is reading this who wants to adopt, looks aren’t everything, even my wife and I where at first were going for a good looking dog, but Barney is in his own right is one of the best looking dogs I have had the pleasure of sharing time with.

In his own scruffy way he is so loveable.  He is also friendly with other dogs whilst out on his three a day walks.  My wife and I would like to thank Chesterfield RSPCA, for all the help and advice we got during the adoption process, very friendly and efficient.

Yours gratefully

Barney’s new mum and dad, Jon & Mel Schmidt.
