Cassie

D2008138

English Bull Terrier x

Female - neutered

Adopted 8th November 2008

We adopted Cassie on Nov 8th 2008. After some teething problems i.e. barking
at visitors and pulling on the the lead she has become a very loving
friendly dog. We have found she is a very intelligent dog and she needs a
lot of stimulation. Over Christmas 2008 we took the plunge and let her off the
lead in the park and we have not looked back, she never lets us out of her
sight. She is very friendly with other dogs and has made plenty of friends in
several parks around us. We are so glad we adopted her we love her very
much she is a very important member of our family.

Collie x

Male - neutered

Adopted 23rd January 2009

Hi, just thought i would let you know how Sam is settling in.

He loves going on long walks on the old Kirkby pit top and has made many friends on his walks with other dogs! He loves going in all the brambles and as its snowed recently he thinks its hilarious to rub his face in it!

He is becoming a dear friend and doesn't let me out of his sight for too long!

I would like to thank all the Staff at the Chesterfield R.S.P.C.A for the help and support.

Many thanks

Polly

Polly

S2007057

Domestic Short Haired

Female

Adopted 20th October 2007

I wanted to tell you about my Polly!  I had never had a pet before and after meeting my Mums cats I knew I wanted a cat companion!  We went to look around the RSPCA and there we met Lolly, I changed her name to Polly and she came to stay with me and we never looked back.

Unfortunately I believe her previous owners had left her when they moved house and she had a thyroid problem which we treated successfully. She was a good girl, she took her tablets very well and always ate well, especially lots of treats. She liked to sit in front of the fire and any where warm including on my bed, she often woke me up to tell me it was break fast time!

Unfortunately just after Christmas she wasn't feeling herself and although she was very brave she went to sleep 27th January 2009.  I would like to thank the staff of both the RSPCA and the Chapel House Vets. We had a couple of years of fun and it was a pleasure to look after Polly she was over 15 years old.  I am looking forward to looking after other cats in the future.

Poppy & Pepper

Pepper & Poppy

Adopted 12th January 2008

Hello to all at RSPCA Chesterfield.

Just a quick note on the latest news of Pepper and Poppy.

I hope you remember this lovely pair. We adopted them on 12th January 2008. We were unsure about the names at first as they sounded very similar and found the dogs not really knowing which name belonged to which dog, but with persistence, and the odd "peppy" and "popper" we got there in the end!

As a family we enjoy their company every minute of every day. We have regular days out to various places and they love being with us. Poppy was very unsure about the lead at first but soon got the hang of it and is a lovely walker, just like Pepper. Poppy didn't know how to play with a toy or a ball when she first came to us and only wanted to play with Pepper. Now things are very different as she loves playing fetch and pulling games. They go to school and back twice a day with my youngest son and myself and have made lots of doggy friends on the way. They are extremely sociable dogs and everyone that comes into contact with them says how well behaved and friendly they are. We love them so very much and know that they love us too.

Thank you to all of you doing all the looking after and not to mention, all the caring and loving that made it possible for us to have Pepper and Poppy as part of our family.

Thanks again for everything you do for all our sick, injured, abandoned and cruelly treated animals.

Murdoch

Hungarian Vizsla

Male - neutered

Adopted 9th September 2007

Hello to everyone at Chesterfield RSPCA

Do you remember your first visit from a Hungarian Viszla?  We adopted Murdoch (aka Bruno) in September 2007 after he had been left by a family for being too noisy and boisterous.  Well, he's been doing fabulously since we first got him!  He is well behaved, very affectionate, great with kids and is a whole bundle of fun.  He loves being out on the moors, is now a great swimmer and we've recently discovered how much he loves the snow!

We were initially wary about taking on a rescue dog but it’s turned out brilliantly for us and Murdoch, who was completely quiet within 2 days and he calmed down and settled in really quickly. He simply needed some time put into him, exercise and ground rules! Now he is a great, loving, big ginger hound. I've attached a photo of him in the snow- doing his camera pose!

Thanks and best wishes
