Coco
M2008292
Guinea Pig
Female
Adopted 30th August 2008
To all my friends at RSPCA Chesterfield,
I wanted to let you know that I'm getting on great with my new family. They adopted me on 30th August 2008. Back then I was called Cho Chee, but my new family gave me a new name, Coco, to start my new life with, at home in Sheffield.
My best friend is called Gizmo. She already lived here and, when I first arrived, I had my own run next to her's (and my own hutch inside), whilst we got to know each other. But now we wouldn't ever want to be apart.
I have attached a photos of us - I'm the cream & caramel pig on the left and Gizmo is on the right, and a photo of our outdoor run. We love being in the garden - our Mum says that we are like little lawn-mowers! But, for when it's cold, we have a run inside with lots of toys to keep us entertained - tunnels are my favourite :)
Thank you for looking after me and finding me a loving home.
Love from,
Coco (the guinea pig!) x

Tom & Kittie
C2007051 & S2008099
Here are some piccies of the two cats we adopted from you guys. Tom (the bigger of the cats) was a birthday present from my boyfriend and we adopted him on 14 June 2007 and he is now 4 yrs old. He is a big softie at heart even though he is probably the size of a small tiger!!!! We have since discovered (after numerous vets visits which he has only just forgiven us for) that he is allergic to beef, milk, birch and oak trees and of all things peanuts! He's been fine since and thank god for petplan is all I can say! When we first got him, he spent the first 24 hours hiding underneath the cupboards in the kitchen and was very nervous and shy, but he soon got out of that and will now sit for cuddles and grooming and sleeps on the bed next to me and I love him to bits.
The smaller, and darker, of the 2 cats is Kittie and we adopted her on 2 Jan this year. She has settled in fine, in fact she settled in quicker than we ever thought. We were told to keep her in a separate room because we already had Tom and to see how things went over the next couple of days.....well we couldn't keep her in the spare room, nothing was stopping her, including the door and carpet! She wasn't really phased by Tom either. Kittie is highly entertaining to watch and will spend hours chasing her own tail which can often result in her doing backflips and somersaults! She is so inquisitive that every little thing is explored! She has finally got out of the 5.30am wake up calls as well which is greatly appreciated!
They now get on fine together. He tries to groom her and she'll sometimes let him, other times she'll let him know in her own way that she's not bothered! Alternatively, Kittie will often 'flirt' and swish her tail in Tom's face when he's patiently awaiting being fed and he sometimes ignores it, other times he'll just walk off!
Overall, they have both settled in great and I wouldn't be without them.
Thanks

Katy
S2008119
Domestic Short Haired
Female
Adopted 17th January 2009
Just to let you know that Katy is settling in really well and is very cheeky and naughty now. She loves to wake us up at 5 am by jumping on the bed and trying to leap on to the window sill! She chases her ball all around the room and frightens the lady next door by clattering it against the skirting boards. (The lady next door doesn't mind at all, she thinks Katy is lovely).
We have a quirky cottage in Cressbrook with lots of nooks and crannies and creaky cupboards which Katy loves and she likes climbing on to the window sills and frightening the birds off.
Mike has built a porch on to the back of the house for her to sit and watch the world go by.
She's very happy and we love her very much. Many thanks for all your help when we came to your Shelter and I hope all the abandoned pets find homes. (We might be coming to see if you have some chickens soon, I'm working on Mike to build a hen house in the garden, wish me luck with that one!)
Love from Mike and Clair Oldfield in Cressbrook, Derbyshire |

Charlie
C2009009
Domestic Short Haired
Female - neutered
Adopted 30th January 2009
I adopted Charlie back on 30th January 2009 when she was still very timid and terrified of loud noises. Now she’s settled into her new home and got used to having a whole house to roam about, she’s much braver.
I think she is probably more dog than cat – she follows me everywhere around the house, miaows when someone’s at the door; although she still enjoying sitting on laps!
Having never had a cat before, she’s an absolute joy, so well behaved and well-trained.
Thank you so much RSPCA Chesterfield, particularly Beverley for helping me find the perfect cat.
I have attached some pictures of her – her spay-patch as finally grown over now!
Thanks again,
Kate |

Mitzy & Lyra
S2008113 & 114
Females
Adopted 4th January 2009
Hello to everyone at Chesterfield RSPCA.
My partner Jamie and I adopted Mitzy and Candy in January 2009. We changed Candy’s name to Lyra. They were quite nervous when we brought them home but they soon settled in very quickly. Lyra couldn't stop playing with her new toys and Mitzy just wanted fussing. They are lovely cats with different personalities but are both very good. We couldn't have been shown a better pair of kittens, We are so happy that we got to adopt them as they bring a lot of joy and laughter. I love just curling up on the settee with the both of them and listen to them purr.
The picture I attached was taken a few days after bringing them home.
Thanks to everyone who found me my purrfect cats
Love Harley, Jamie, Mitzy and Lyra
