Bedlington Terrier

Female

Adopted 31st May 2009

To All at Chesterfield RSPCA

We just wanted to let you know how happy we are with our new family addition, Poppy (was Piper the Bedlington). We adopted her at the end of May 2009 and even though she was very scared and nervous when she first came home she has settled in and now got her feet well and truly under the table!

She loves our long walks and curling up on a warm knee. She has made lots of new doggy friends and loves meeting everyone, human or canine, she greets everyone she meets and begs them to play, and everyone is just as pleased to meet her. As you can see from the picture she is adorable, fantastic with the kids and such good girl.

We are so glad to have her and grateful that we were the lucky ones to adopt her, Thanks!

Domestic Short Haired

Female

Adopted 4th March 2009

I am writing to let you know how Tootsie is getting on. She has a new name and is now called Muggle. She loves playing outside and always seems so busy. She loves playing with our Ragdoll cat at every chance she gets.

Each day she gets more and more loving although she is far from a lap cat. All round lovely cat. I like to think she's come to a good home and thanks for letting us adopt her into our family

PS...she is greedy too!

Lolly

Lolly

D2009194

Cocker Spaniel

Female - neutered

Adopted 1st August 2009

Hi everyone

It is now 6 weeks since we brought Lola (Lolly as we now call her) into her new home and she has settled in so very quickly.

She was quite 'round' when we first saw her - obviously she was overweight.  Now with the extra walks and a good diet she is now responding and has lost almost 3lbs since we brought her home.

She has got some of the most endearing traits - when you ask her for a cuddle she launches herself at us and 'plonks' her head on our chest and nuzzles her nose under our chin.

She loves to be out in the garden with our other cocker or generally just lazing around in between her walks.

When we first brought her home she didn't show much interest in toys whatsoever.  Now she will quite readily sneak one from under our other cocker's nose and run off with it. She is slowly coming out of her shell.

We would like to say thank you for allowing us to have Lolly. We shall love and treasure her for the rest of her life. She is truly adorable.

Love & cuddles from Lolly to all at Chesterfield RSPCA and best wishes from us for continued success in all that you do.

Staffordshire Bull Terriers

Hello to you all at Chesterfield RSPCA

This is just a note to tell you know how our adopted dogs are getting on. Mo is 2 and a half now and weighs in at 4 stone. He always was a big lad, but now he's thriving. He is still the same bouncy, loving dog he was when he was looked after by you. We all love him and has become the focal point of our extended family. We would be lost without him.

In January of 2009 we introduced Mo to Khia, another white staffy. Again, from you at Chesterfield RSPCA. She is the sweetest staffy you could ever wish to meet, she licks everything, earning her the nickname of "lick Mclickson". She is so gentle, not bouncy, not boisterous and loves everyone. She can be a bit nervous but her relationship with the "boy wonder", Mo is hilarious. He is her ears and she is his brain. They are in-separable!

Never did we think we'd ever have two dogs so loving, handsome and pretty. Because of Khia's deafness we have to connect her to Mo when they are let loose on walks. This absolutely shatters Mo as he has to run when he normally collapses. Khia has to put with Mo forcing his play on her. Sometimes he runs straight at her with his toy in his mouth and pesters her until she finally tells him to stop or joins in with a game of tug-o-war. Mo always wins these games but that doesn't stop Khia trying.

Since we are a large family, both dogs get what they want from us and Khia has even been subjected to being dressed in pink. Not the most feminine of dogs, I know, but beautiful all the same. As for Mo, well, anyone who meets this big bear knows that a game of football without having your ball burst is out of the question. But how can you not love him.

Thanks Chesterfield RSPCA we wouldn't know what to do without our 2 lovely staffies x

Glyn, Claire, Deb, Hayley, Danny, Matt, Ryan and Jodie

And thanks for looking after us too, luv from Mo and Khia

Suzi

Suzi

S2009074

Domestic Short Haired

Female - neutered

Adopted 24th October 2009

Suzi has been with me for just two weeks now and already I can't imagine life without her. I'm not sure just who picked who, when I walked past her pen! She's a real character and the boss of the house! Her collar injury seems to have healed up nicely now and it's great to see her running around the room, chasing her little toy ball. Suzi is very much a lap cat and enjoys nothing more than having a nap on my knee. Everyone who has met her thinks she's absolutely gorgeous and I couldn't agree more. I definitely made the right choice. Here's to many years together.
