Tammy
C2007005
Domestic Short Haired
Female - neutered
Adopted 24th January 2007
Do you remember Tammy? She has settled down nicely in her new home and is now free to roam which she enjoys. She is a loving cat and very active. She likes to play a game of hide and seek with us and darts out from under the furniture and quickly disappears again.
We sometimes wonder about her age, she is so active and keeps us amused for hours. Tammy also likes her sleep, she has her own bed but often prefers to sleep elsewhere, usually in my chair. We thank you for your help in finding such a very good companion for us.

Flyte
D2006135
Collie cross
Male - neutered
Adopted 1st June 2006
Hi to everyone at chesterfield RSPCA
I thought I would send you a 12 month update on how Flyte (formerly known as stripe) is doing. Well the last year has been quite different in our house, thanks to our four legged friend. He has developed into a really lovely dog with a fantastic temperament. He gets on well with everyone and everybody loves him!
We have seen him change in the last six months and have watched him develop into a really lovely little character. He definitely knows that this is his home now. He is so much fun and brings a warm atmosphere to the house, life would not be the same without him!
He loves going for walks, anywhere and everywhere. He also loves his bed and often takes himself off for a nap! He has a collection of toys which he plays with every day, although, he is not happy with one, he has to fetch them all out!!
He is a much loved member of our family, and he even goes visiting relatives with us. In April he had his first visit to the seaside, which he loved!! He loved the sea and paddled with us all day. I think he has developed a taste for seafood though, as he kept eating seaweed and even picked some up and ran off with a small crab and proceeded to eat it! (luckily with no ill affects). Poor crab!!
He has most certainly got a real personality now, and is a happy little chap, always wagging his tail. He has got to know the sound of our cars, and jumps up the window to look for us, which is lovely.
He loves to pinch things and regularly runs off with a tissue or a pair of knickers out the washing basket!! He hides behind the table with them and runs off if you try to get them back, it's all a fun game for him and pure comedy for us. I'm sure our dog has got a sense of humour!!
I will close now and wish you all the best and continued success at Chesterfield RSPCA.
Kind Regards
Deborah, Lisa, Kay (and not forgetting Flyte) |

Charlie
D2005132
German Shepherd cross
Male - neutered
Adopted 5th June 2005
We adopted our dog, Charlie, from you in June 2005. We wanted to let you know that he is doing really well with us! We recently took him on holiday to our caravan in Butlins, Skegness and entered him in a small dog show. At the end, Charlie won a rosette for having the 'Waggiest Tail'! Here is a picture of our little star!
When we went to the RSPCA in Chesterfield, we weren't looking for any specific dog. We wanted a quick look to see if there were any dogs that took our interest. We saw a couple of dogs that we quite liked, including Charlie. There were no reservations on Charlie so we decided that we wanted to meet him. We all loved Charlie so much when we met him - he was such a lovely dog and was really fun to play with. Instantly, we put a reservation on him but we needed my Dad to meet him before we could start the adoption process. We raced home (as we live in Alfreton) and rushed upstairs to my Dad and started pleading him to come to meet Charlie. We all hurried into the car and raced to the RSPCA before they closed. When we arrived, Charlie was being looked at by somebody else. As soon as the member of staff was taking him back, we were there to see Charlie again! My Dad loved Charlie as much as we did and that's when we decided to start the adoption process. The next day, we picked up Charlie (after a sleepless night) and took him home!
He is getting on really well and is enjoying our home. I have been teaching him lots of different tricks and he can now: sit, lie down, jump to touch your hand, spin, roll over, jump, shake paw, bring shoes when going on a walk and even fetch the post! He has done really well since we adopted him and we are very pleased that we chose him for our dog! He is very pleasant and loving. He's also really energetic and loves going for a run on a field near where we live.

Leah
D2007138
Boxer
Female - neutered
Adopted 12th June 2007
Hi There
Just to let you know Leah has settled in really well! She made herself at home straight away, her toys didn't’t know what had hit them!
She howled for a few minutes the first night when we put her to bed, but she stopped after a couple of minutes. Ever since you tell her to go to bed and you don’t her a thing out of her all night.
Her command and toilet training are really good, no problems yet anyway! She is very inquisitive when we are out walking, she sniff’s everything in sight and has got to look at everything! She is getting walked about 3 – 4 miles a day and play sessions in between to keep her occupied and to wear her out, which takes some doing!!!!
I have got her registered at a local vets and took her in yesterday to have her stitches checked. There was just a knot at the end that needed to be snipped. The vet gave her a good checking over and was given a clean bill of health!
Everyone is amazed at how placid and good natured she is and is popular addition to the family!
As you can see from the photo she has taken a liking to drinking out the fountain in the garden, very entertaining!
All the best
Nicholas Beeston
