Adopted 8th July 2006

Hello

Just thought I’d send a quick email to let you know that Millie and Sisco have settled in very well to their new home, it’s almost as if they have lived here all their lives! Now they’ve got to know us well, they are really confident little dogs, although still timid with new people. Millie has been nicknamed Millie the Minx because she is so minxy! She loves nothing more than whizzing around the house at top speed with a toy in her mouth! Sisco is a bit more laid-back and calm, he just loves being made a fuss of. Both have impeccable manners in the house, they automatically stay just outside the room when you are eating, they never try to get on the furniture, they know the commands sit, stay and immediately come when you call/whistle (obviously very well brought up in their previous home!)

They are eating well and sleeping well - interestingly, in contrast to how they were at the centre, they prefer not to sleep in the same basket so they each have their own in the same room.

We have sent you a few pictures for your ‘wall of fame’!

Many thanks again for giving us the opportunity to re-home two such wonderful dogs.

Hi

Just thought I would send you an up to date photo of Ember now that
his coat has fully grown back.  He is a real character and we are so glad
we adopted him (or should that be HE who adopted us!!).  He has settled in
really well and now has his own chair, basket, cushion, sofa - well in fact anything
he wants to lay on!

Can't believe we've had him 18 months now.  I can't think of a time when
we didn't have him.

Thank you!

Harley

Harley

Springer Spaniel

Male - neutered

Adopted 14th November 2006

Chesterfield RSPCA

Lou and I thought you might like to see a couple of pictures of Harley the 2yr
old Springer Spaniel we adopted from you.

Harley has proven to be a very affectionate dog, well behaved in all
respects. Our fears about his reported approach to 'house training' were
virtually unfounded and we're pleased to say that he's hardly let us down at
all.

His main complication at the moment is his 'car sickness' which has resulted
in some pretty spectacular experiences for all concerned, but we both feel
he's improving every time we take him out in a car.

The pictures we sent were both taken during a recent 3 hr walk around Ladybower
Reservoir and onto Win Hill in the Hope Valley, Derbyshire. Harley has had a
number of good long walks in the Peak District, all conducted at break-neck
speed (in leaps and bounds) on his part. He is fine off the lead (providing
we are nowhere near roads or sheep!)  He comes to call with little bother
and is good with other dogs and people.

Harley appears to be settling in well. He has a firm daily routine which
involves lots of walks. He gets two good meals a day which he seems to run
off with little trouble. Remarkably he has little interest in 'treats' as
affection appears to be his prime motivation.

We are very proud of him, he's a real head-turner and always a popular cause
of conversation when out walking.

Kind regards

Mick and Lou

Domestic Short Haired

Male - neutered

Adopted 9th September 2006

Hello everyone at Chesterfield RSPCA,

We have been meaning to send in picture of calypso, now called Marmaduke for ages, in fact since we got him in September - but he has just been keeping us to busy!  I have sent a few pictures for you. Marmaduke is such a fabulous cat, I can't thank you enough for looking after him until he found his permanent home!  He has settled in fine and now truly owns our house!

He is still getting upset that he can’t go outside all the time, however we do let him out under strict constant supervision.  He loves nothing better than a long snuggly cuddle on the sofa, and will follow you around the house until he gets his way and you sit somewhere, anywhere so he can cuddle you. He, as cats do, is coping brilliantly without his front leg, we never underestimate his speed!

Again thank you for letting him adopt us, hope you like the pictures!

Barney

Persian

Male - neutered

Adopted 16th July 2005

This is an up to date picture of Barney who we adopted in April 2005.  He has FIP and was very skinny and shaved when we adopted him. He now spends his time sat in the conservatory on his favourite cushion. As you can see he's a different cat now and a much loved family member.

Thank you for letting us adopt him.
