Poppet
S2005095
Domestic Short Haired
Female
Adopted 13th December 2005
Poppet has really settled in well with the family, she likes to spend time outside lying in the sun and chasing flies, she can be a real character at times. Poppet likes to play with her toys especially a cuddly shark, she meows at it likes it’s her baby.
Poppet regularly visits her friend Lennox, he is a cat that lives round the corner, and she invites herself in through the cat flap, eats Lennox's food and then curls up and goes to sleep on a comfy chair.
If it wasn’t for the helpful and friendly staff at Chesterfield RSPCA we would never have found Poppet, so thank you very much to all the staff for taking care of her and helping us to give her a lovely new home.

Pepsi
D2007203
cross breed
Female
Adopted 28th July 2007
We fell in love with Pepsi the instant we saw her photo on the website and thought "there's no harm in looking". She was a bit bigger than we expected but had a lovely temperament so we set the ball rolling, we really wanted her!
We had an exciting week whilst waiting for the home visit, buying a few things like the dog cage that was recommended and other essentials. At last Saturday came and we went to pick up Pepsi, the talk through was both helpful and re-assuring and we were now the proud owners of a new dog
I took Pepsi for a short walk when we got home and she settled almost immediately, no whining, not aggressive towards our cat and even did as my 7 year old daughter asked. She is a very bright dog and learns very quickly, she's become quite motherly to my sister’s 12 week old puppy and is trying really hard to be friends with the cat, the cat is slowly getting used to her.
We were expecting a bit of stress for a couple of weeks but Pepsi has fitted in perfectly and it now feels as though she's been here ages not just a week. As you can see Pepsi has claimed her seat for the evening. Anybody thinking of getting a dog should visit an RSPCA centre and give a rescue animal a home, I am so glad that we popped in for a look because I now have an excuse to go out walking again in the countryside that surrounds our home.
Thank you to all the staff at Chesterfield RSPCA, keep up the good work
Yours Sincerely

Lucky Star
S2007033
Domestic Medium Haired
Female - neutered
Adopted 3rd August 2007
Hi
Just to let you know Willow (Lucky Star) is doing fabulously!!
Her collar is off, her scar has healed, and she’s a cheeky cuddly bundle of fun! Played with toys instead of running away from them for the first time, she’s amazing!!
She’s absolutely spoilt rotten, and totally rules the roost! She’s gaining confidence with strangers now which is good, and is totally trusting and very playful with me. She follows me everywhere meowing to me all the way, she’s ever so loving.
I now work from home which she loves, and spends all day laid on her bed next to me or jumping on my laptop!
She’s even more beautiful than when I adopted her and a bit of a fattie now!
She’s the best £60 I’ve ever spent.
Many thanks

Dennis
D2007206
Terrier cross
Male
Adopted 26th July 2007
Hello everyone
Here are a few pictures of me when I arrived at my new home. I love my new home, I have a garden to run around in and I love to watch the birds in the garden and to play with my toys but especially love to chase the washing line prop!
I am doing really well with toilet training and my mummy tells me to sit and
I give her my paw! I have grown a little since these pictures so we will
send some more recent ones another day.
See you all soon
Lots of love

Dumpling & Sophie
C2005062 & C2005064
Domestic Short Haired
Male & Female
Adopted 15th May 2005
Dear all at the RSPCA
My name is Zack (previously Dumpling) and I was adopted in May 2005 along with my sister Dizzy (previously Sophie).
We have settled really well into our new home and also have a brother Tango who is a Border Collie Cross, also adopted from the RSPCA. Once we got used to having a dog around we started to get along really well and now we both like to follow him everywhere and sleep on his lovely large bed. We live in quite a rural area with plenty of fields around us so there are loads of great places to look around. I regularly bring presents home for my parents but I am not sure they appreciate how difficult it is trying to catch something to take home!! My neighbours have recently filled their stable full of hay so I have found a lovely place to sleep that is very warm and dry, so we just pop home now and again for some food.
I am a very chilled cat and nothing really phases me, my sister on the other hand isn’t as confident (hence her name) so I look after her. I’m not sure my parents see it that way I bet they think that I am teaching her bad habits!
My parents have now decided to emigrate to Australia, yes of course we’re going, we would be pleased to get rid of the wet and cold British weather. I hope they buy a house near a lake or the sea so I can watch the birds and the fish!! I will keep you posted on how we get on, although we won’t be moving to Oz yet for about a year.
Thank you for finding us such a lovely home.
